Sara Etelävuori (born in 1990) started to play the violin at the age of 3. In the year 2003 she was accepted to study with Seppo Tukiainen in Sibelius Academy ́s youth programme and since 2010 she has been studying in the master ́s programme of Sibelius- Academy. At the moment Sara studies with prof. Mihaela Martin in Cologne Musikhochschule in the masters-programme. She has participated to masterclasses with for example Ana Chumachenko, Christian Tetzlaff, Régis Pasquier, Pavel Vernikov and Hagai Shaham.
Sara has been succesfull in many competitions of which now will be mentioned 1.prize in Jyväskylä violin competition (2006), and Kuopio violin competition (2010) where she played as the youngest competitor in the finals, and recieved 4.prize. Sara has also performed with Lahti Symphony Orchestra, Kuopio Philharmonic, Oulu Symphony, Lohja Philharmonic, Kirkkonummi Chamber Orchestra, and Kemi Philharmonic Orchestra. She also plays regularly in Kuhmo music festival and has performed in Shanghai world expo 2010 -world exhibition, Korsholma music festival, SibaFest and Helsinki chamber summer -festival.
Sara ́s instrument is a Vincenzo Panormo (1970, Palermo, Monrale), kindly in loan from the Mannheim Sinfonima -Stiftung.
